Ray would be pleased that sitting in the shed is my little Riley Elf, owned by John Fitzpatrick ( no not the famous one) and it raced in the Telecom Festival and is listed in the other thread.
Good to hear Bruce. I unfortunately had to scrap two Riley Elfs just before Trade Me started. The 1300cc engine I brought from the UK is now with Mike Lucas and the 998cc part reconditioned engine is with John Hudson.
Not sure if I still have a box of bits (many brand new) for the Elf but I do have various bits and pieces including a lovely pair of 1 1/2" SUs on a Mini manifold, Cooper remote gear change, two sets set of glass, boot floor cover panel etc.
A mix
First is a professionally taken slide (ie not mine). Can anyone identify the second car?

ERC, a guy in the UK has a Riley Pathfinder - year and details unknown at this stage but it came with this Number Plate.
He says DVLA has been unable to assist - understand many " Local Body " records have been lost / destroyed ! - seems a bit like NZ did with obsolete / expired Rego's .
Can you help
Seem to remember you know quite a bit about the system and where a Rego could be from.
Cheers..
My knowledge NZ based like this.

That rego plate was originally issued in Surrey. British Motor Museum Heritage should have the build data for the Pathfinder as Riley was under the Nuffield/BMC/Leyland banner.

Recreations and replicas. A photographer's nightmare... Not so much that they are in anyway non-photogenic, far from it, but often, you just can't tell from a photograph. If I ever publish a book of photographs, it will have to carry the disclaimer that pics may or may not be of original cars.

F1 Renaults
1977 - British GP in the days when paddock access wasn't just for the elite.
2002 - Goodwood Festival of Speed - note the crowds in the background. If you can't make the Revival, because the timing doesn't suit, the FoS is worth a visit, but for the various cars around. Viewing the action, as with any hillclimb, is very restricted, but the static displays and paddocks are worthwhile.
The central sculpture/display outside Goodwood House is always impressive.
