Seems so long ago already, but getting there early meant no traffic queues at all. Goodwood of course.
Towards the end of the day - and the following days, the badly swollen ankle was taking its toll. This may well turn out to be my last 3 day visit, but I wouldn't totally rule that out. My advice to anyone more interested in the cars than the actual races, but with limited time or cash would be to visit on the Friday. You can still go to 'Over the Road' on the Thursday evening for free as long as you have any day ticket.
Many many thanks to Tim Hill of HRC for his assistance - again.
7:25AM Friday September 17th.
By 8:38am and suitably fortified with a bacon & egg butty and a coffee, crossing the track across the new bridge at the entry to Madgwick and plenty of space to pick a (temporary) viewing spot. As I had a grandstand pass, I opted to spend the first couple of sessions in the Madgwick exit stand.
Each day starts with one of several parades. This year, the hot rods.
Then later, one of the tribute parades. As in 2009, Stirling Moss.
