Its getting close now.
If you're watching the V8 Supercar coverage this weekend from Winton, be sure to keep an eye out for Woody in the Fataz Camaro, competing in the TCM races. The Camaro, which is making its race debut, is an Australian Trans-Am, therefore not as modified or as fast, but Woody will be having a lot of fun anyway.
This car is also on Speedcafe today.
Unfortunately this car doesn't look like this anymore. He just got unloaded by Brad Tilley ( who's been racing for so long he's got no excuse ) at Reid Park at Bathurst. Move was never on, front bumper to rear quarter. Not even close.
In case anyone here watches Touring Car Masters in Oz, shit like this is exactly why Jim Richards walked away from it. Too many straight line heroes, and too many bash and crash stock car drivers. The DSO needs to come down hard on these guys and clean the show right up, because rubbing ISN'T racing, it's the excuse everyone seems to use when they don't have the talent to pass cleanly.

i watched a TCM smash up fest...Gommersol in his Torana led the most hits. Eddie in his red Coupe probably the most innocent.
You are right Andrew about the driving...expensive crashes.

I agree Andrew. Some of the driving standards in TCM are just plain scary. Some of these guys are way out of their depth and it seems banging into everyone is part of the game. Brad Tilley is usually pretty clean, but that was just a brain-dead move that has wrecked someone elses car.

Very well put Andrew.
Unfortunately Bruce in this class rubbing IS racing, its not about the car its about winning and sometimes at all costs. Unlike here in NZ the DSO did come down hard and fines were issued. Retro classes like this and our local CMC class are what I call extreme motorsport, spectators luv the old skool look but the cars are loaded with modern technology as the theme is to beat out the competition.
The current built cars like the new white TCM XD Falcon are so close to been a V8 Supercar its not funny, air jacks and all, but just clothed in an olskool shell. For Jim the goal posts have moved a lot since he built the Sprint 10 years ago, it seems he's retiring due to other factors but yes I can see hes a bit over it.

That quote attributed to me was actually written by Andrew Metford but I understand and agree with his sentiments.
