A clipping from the Herald dated December 17 1959 when Bruce McLaren returned home after winning his first Grand Prix at Sebring.
I found this old VCR tape at a garage sale (4 VCR tapes for a dollar (US) and I do not know if it made to DVD form.(It did )
(DVD version has extra footage of Vern Schuppan at Mosport in Canada )
It is 50 minutes of magic with Derek Bell howling around seven old circuits in a Porsche 956 in 1984
Including the "old" Nurburgring of over 13 miles and South Africa's Kyalami circuit. LeMans is fantastic.
I hope you can get a chance to see / own it. (You might have to get out the old VCR from the attic !)
(Ken Hyndman )

Organised by the Egmont Classic Car Register for the 50th Anniversary.
I think some pictures appeared in NZ Classic Car or Classic Driver at the time.
My mags from that time got left in NZ.
anyone with photo's please post them.
The Buckler 90 owned by Dallas Crampton did belong to my good friend Garry Price. Garry purchased it off Dewar Thomas. We spent an enjoyable afternoon with Dewar looking at his photograph albums.....that was amazing on his travels in F1 and Indy.
Sadly I believe Dallas has passed away some years ago.
I had planned to run the Alfa GTV 2000 there but mechanical gremlins put a holt to that.
It was an enjoyable day and met many old friends.

Even though I served my apprenticeship as a mechanic in NZ and then went overseas to work with Holden in Sydney, Trojan Works in London, BMW in North America, this Trade Certificate proves that I was not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" at that time. ( As my siblings often remind me !)
(Ken Hyndman..hey, anything over 50 is superfluous !

Ken, mate, you got there this boy had two shots at the Old Shcool Cert, just missed the first and was good the second year at it, then failed UE, all good. have my school papers too !!, my mother kept such stuff, maybe that is where I got the collecting habit from.
Roger- the best bit is that we couldnt remember things for the exams, but 50 years later we can remember all of this....................
This 71-year-old driver toured New Zealand in 1960 towing a caravan behind his race car.
They were calling Ken a veteran in 1983 and he's still going 32 years later.
The ex-Silcock Jaguar re-born in 1983?
Great copy Milan.
Shame that great book shop closed in Newmarket - or has it ?
Cheers Patrick
Clive Gotts Jaguar at my workshop-a few years ago.
Note the flares, flutes in bonnet and it has the same engine as in #357.
And he has still gott a great head of hair.
