I was driving the blue Buckler MK5 at that event and had a great time driving at a place I went to as a kid and one of the highlights was being on the dummy grid along side Stirling Moss.It was the kind of event that you had to pinch ones self to make sure it was for real. Thanks for posting these photos
This is the last batch I will put up of these. Seemed a shame that they were sitting around having never been seen before. Hope they were of interest to some of you - they certainly bought back some great memories to me.
Great pictures! I've finally seen a picture of my car on here, albeit hiding behind an E-Type...
Is there a site that allows you to monetise your shots? If there is and you have a decent shot of my Lotus, I'd be keen on ordering some prints.
Cheers Ross. PM and email address sent.
A few shots from that day, not action but pits and dummy grid area. Captions on photos. The Italian, The Volpini of Geoff Manning # 22, Colin Waite's Stanguellini had race # 12.,

Nigel,
This photo is not up to your standards but it does bring back memories of Len Southwood driving the Stutz with Prime Minister Robert Muldoon aboard at Pukekohe before the start of the 1976 NZGP.
( Ken Hyndman photo)
Back in the day Ken that large crowds attended race meetings
I do have an entry list that I could scan.
I was flagging for both days and sad to say, on a flag post that was on a straight and due to a different senior marshal, we were stuck on the one point all weekend, with no stand down time to wander. What should have been a photographic feast for me, was anything but, as we were too far from the track edge or a corner to get any decent pics. The one time in my life I actually regretted being a motorsport volunteer...
Our normal system was two flagging, one observing, two incident crew. If we had 7 or more, we took it in turns to stand down which at least gave us a bit of time to wander. These days, the poor marshals are out just about every weekend and they are often struggling to get two per post...
What happened to the Tuatara seen in post #13?

ERC, the entry list, yes please, to my email " racerrog47@gmail.com "
ERC, thanks, Appreciate your comments about being a Flaggie . aka - a Marshall, it should be so the guys that do the work which gets the drivers on and off the track, get some recognition.
I did a bit in the 60's - easier then, in some ways, but not so safe, stood in the huge concrete circle just before the elbow at Pukekohe long since gone, a bit scary but so close to the action. good memories.
Raced 2 cars that day,Lotus Elan Sprint and Mini Cooper 998cc 1964,very busy day ,but a lot of fun.Must had have money in those days !!
