What a neat looking DAF !
Couple of photos with 'Cortina t-shirt' given by Rob on trip north, just having the compulsory gum boot drink at Puke ( if you won class that was a compulsory) Mr safety car Tony Rutherford leaning on truck, my brother Mike watching and myself and Ross the entertainment officer indulging.
Other is just in pits discussing matters after running.
Loved the colour of car then and have to convince owner to put it back like that (he reckons it's gay) but that was when it was at it's best.
Is that Ross Brown, Rod?
Yep, was on Jiggers crew and big supporter of Sports Sedan Assoc, was in tyres (as in wagon behind) and then had tyre shop in Mt Wellington with Dave Jones, couple of characters (think it was 'Red Rooster Tyres)
Apparently in Whakatane way now, so there's another hunt out job.
The Viva was stripped and engine and running gear used in other projects around, and nature interrupted with the shell which was unfortunately at back of yard. The engine block is still around (dummy in a build at moment) and this block can tell some stories and has been in a couple of well known cars. Will get life story right from Ralph.
There has been a pretty intense search for Commodore but believe it has been chopped and dicked with and then pulled apart and basically dumped after. I would love to see it again also, it was trick back then.
Pretty sure 315 Consul/Capri Holden 6 powered is Jenny Mossman and Torana is Brian Friend (ex Harrington)
Anyone got info on the #16 Escort? Looks a lot like the old Wayne Fuller/Roger Brader car.

would he be the smaller one, both top blokes
he also built a Viva little bit like Ralphs and it was black and lime green as was his hair with the safety pin in ear to finish it of. Very clever engineer JT
