Goss even enquired re owner contact details about 2009 ? when he was in Tas for a Power from Past meeting at Symmons Plains.

The car (wreck) after Brian Bowater crashed it was bought by a Canadian guy Bob Cox who previous to that had the Coppins Firebird, and was left in storage with Dave Loose as Bob shifted back to Canada temporarily which became permanent and consequently a year or two ago the Goss remains and a donor car (Falcon GT)were sold I believe to someone in Aussie after Bob finally decided to sell it. I heard the package sold for somewhere around the 50k mark.

Is this the car that was rolled at Meremere dragstrip many years ago?

I know it was rolled , just where I am not sure. Ian was drag racing it about the same time Alan Lim was running the clevo powered Escort, Quartermaster.

It went straight ahead at the end of the road he lived down which was a T section. Launched up and through some Kiwi Fruit fencing. Took the roof off as well as other things. Family wanted the car crushed afterwards but obviously did not happen.

Thanks for the replies everyone. That lays to rest the urban myth I had heard about the HO that was rolled at Meremere.

Re Norris Myles onwership of ex Goss GTHO3......Quote " Do you remember the ex John Goss GTHO he brought to NZ and JR hopped in it at the Glenvale 200 at Baypark and hauled off into the distance and was only stopped by a faulty distributor! Yes your right about the memories. "

Can any one tell me the month in 73 of the Glenvale 200 at Bay Park please.

Motorman September covers that meeting, do you want any details, Ellis. Middle of winter article says , no date given, probably July/August

I found this story on the ex John Goss HO very interesting as my Uncle owned it just after Jim Richards finished with it and owned it for a number of years, my dad spent alot of time with the car and still to this day says its the most exciting car he's ever driven.. I have heard many cool stories of this car while growing up from my dad and uncle. Anyway I just rang my dad after reading this about the so called fate of it... I asked how Bowater died and before I even finished he cut me short and said that Bowater was not driving the ex Goss HO at the time of his death, he is almost 100% certain this was another HO he brought and had already sold the Goss HO at the time, he said at the time people were claiming it was the ex Goss falcon but is damm certain this is not the fact, he was pretty sure it was a red one he was driving at the time.
He has lots of very cool photos of the ex Goss HO from when my uncle owned it.. love the shot he has of it with Graham Addis driving it for him at Baypark

Pretty sure you are right about that. He had sold the blue Goss car and was in another,(from North Shore) that he had just got.
There is a little bit to it and I will talk to previous owner to confirm, as somethings may be best left. It was a tragic accident.

Was the 'Blue' one previously resident in Mossburn for many years?
