Alrighty! Now we're talkin'. Good to see this thread up and running again. This first shot is wild. I assume its moments after the start, and that Moffat is trying to get traction rather than just smoking the bags for fun? This is from 1980, possibly Amaroo, the Alan Grice driven Craven Mild BMW being the replacement for the outlawed Corvair. Moffat had returned to his Monza after mothballing it to stay loyal to Ford in 1976. Once they'd pulled out of racing, he brought the Monza back out from hiding.
Tom Rabold Gemini.

Some good photos here Tony, especially the early Group C cars at Bathurst. The real `privateer' era, which sadly we are never likely to see again.
Cool photos from Amaroo Park.
In #49 I think the Escort will be one of our local boys, either Neil or Knox Ruskin?
Keep the Amaroo ones coming, you may have a few photos of a mate of mine.
Thanks
Ian
Thanks guys. Mick has some beauties in the bunch. I might have to hold off just for a couple of days from uploading more so I can sort out which ones I have already uploaded and which ones I have to do. Confusing myself. lol. Mick handed me another bundle today of about 120 photos again from both Oran Park and Amaroo. Like these some are brilliant, some are slightly cut off and some are slightly blurry but I will post them anyway after I have done everything I can to restore the colour etc.
Fully agree about the privateer era. Have a few shots in this new bunch that I have never seen or heard of before.
What type of car did your mate race Ian? Have a few mini shots here that I have to post yet.
Cheers
Tony
Hi Tony
Mini's would be Rod Darling and Clyde Lee, unless from 76' 77' then Terry Fahey. Plus any other Mini is always of interest.
Next would be Rod again but in a red Datto 1600 Rotary.
Awesome photos.
Thanks
Ian
Couple more of #24 mini to scan and clean up yet.

Awesome stuff
The spinning Capri will be the Jim Keogh car.
The Black Celica is Wally Scott from Queensland.
Dave Jarrett Camaro, ex Kay IndySpeed Shot etc car..
The Humpy Holden is John Burke
The Celica chasing the Barnes Stang is Doug Clark iirc.
Black Gemini is driven by Tom Rabold iirc..
These are really great photos Tony! Thanks for posting. Its nice to see some of the lesser known cars that didn't always make the headlines. I'm pretty sure that Jarrett Camaro is still about somewhere. The Jeff Barnes Mustang is interesting, this car later received a Zakspeed style paint scheme similar to what George Shewiery had done on the Sidchrome Mustang, which prompted some people to wonder if Jeff owned the old Sidchrome Mustang.
Hi Steve,
Yep the old Jarrett Camaro was still racing up until about 5 years ago, Chris Templer was running it for Bob Middleton
Cheers Bondy. I will add the names to the pics now.
Lots more for you to ID when I get them up here.
Hi Steve. Yes it is great to see some of the lesser known cars and drivers. There are some awesome looking cars. I particularly like the little Orange Bug that keeps popping up in the Amaroo shots.
Struggling with a few of them trying to get them clear/clean enough to post. Old age is a B..ch !! lol
Cheers
Tony
