Steve, Car number 5 in post #35 is the Noble Special in its last bodywork version (of about four variations?), it still has that number 5 on its bodywork today, plus the high-mounted mirrors. This image is before Russ Noble added the large McLaren rear wing still in McLaren gulf colours that George Begg brought back from England (which it also still has...) The Ford decal on the car's side refers to its Reg Cook 2-litre SOHC Ford screamer engine. - David Manton

    Hi Steve,
    They are great pic's
    Post 30 & 35 car 9 is Warren Steel in Rhubarb 5.
The Brabham we pulled apart to build the Rhubard would be worth a small fortune if was complete today

That is John MacDonald in the car at that stage. I had sold it some time earlier. John's company was Intelex, which also sponsored the series. John fitted the larger wing.

    Gavin,
When Dave Bull sold this car it was a roller. I bought the 10A to put into my Rideon mower and later sold it to a bloke in the Sth. Is. who was a tosser to deal with.

Thanks David. I thought that could have been the same car, as the bodywork is similar to the pic posted my Markec earlier in this thread, but I still wasn't sure because the rollcage is different, as is some of the bodywork at the windscreen area.

I believe Dave still has that car. His brother told me about one occasion the two stroke actually started and ran the opposite way. Luckily Dave realised before he dropped the clutch off the grid. Graeme

I think car 88 in posts 37 and 46 was Robert Archibald's 'Archibald' which appeared to a front engined clubmans type given the rear engine style full body treatment.
    Any details or comments?
