What a great resource for the future. I hope that some of the obvious caption errors are corrected before they are quoted. Very neat.

Car preparation for the big race day, outside Mills garage, Maxwell road, Blenheim, on Friday 9 th November 1962.
Dunedin crew, driver Barry Cottle sits in his Lola-Climax 1098 cc while brother Mervyn (on left) prepares the car, and pit crew Graham Currie adds some “BP” energol oil. Cottle was 3 rd overall and 1 st in class A in the sports car race. He was also 3 rd in the main race the ‘Renwick 50' which was won by Angus Hislop (Hastings) driving a Cooper-Climax 2495 cc with Chris Amon (Bulls) Maserati 250F 2495 cc 2 nd .

The Renwick 50 road race, was 6 miles west of Blenheim on Saturday 10 Nov. 1962. The start with Angus Hyslop of Hastings, Cooper-Climax 2495 cc, Maurice Stanton of Christchurch, Stanton-Corvette 4932 cc (No17), Tony Shelley of Wellington, Lotus-Climax 2495 cc, Barry Cottle of Dunedin, Lola-Climax 1098 cc, (No57). Bob Eade of Auckland, Maserati 250F 2473 cc (No23), Chris Amon of Bulls, Cooper-Climax 2495 cc (No38), John Histed of Auckland, Lola-Ford 997 cc (No33), and R.H. Smith of Auckland, Ferrari Super (?) 3430 cc (No34).
RESULTS:- 1 st Angus Hyslop, 2 nd Chris Amon, 3 rd Barry Cottle, 4 th John Histed, 5 th R.H. Smith, 6 th Maurice Stanton, 7 th Bob Eade, with Tony Shelly retired.
Wellington driver Tony Shelley at speed in his Lotus-Climax 2495 cc, during the 'RENWICK 50' road race. He retired on lap 3 with throttle problems, the race was won by Angus Hyslop.
No.38 Chris Amon from Bulls in his Maserati 250F 2495 cc. No.23 Bob eade from Auckland, Maserati 250F 2473 cc, and No.33 John Histed from Auckland Lola-Ford 997 cc. Amons Maserati was built in 1954 and sold to British ? organizations. Debut was at the French Grand Prix driven by Ken Wharton. First NZ appearance was at the NZ International GP at Ardmore in 1957 driven by Jack Brabham of Australia, he damaged a valve in practice and did not race. First NZ race was at Levin 23 November 1957 driven by Gavin Quirk of Auckland, last race was at Renwick 10 November 1962 driven by Chris Amon who finished 2 nd behind Angus Hyslop in the ‘Renwick 50'.

Photo taken during the Sports Cars A up to 1500 cc and B over 1500 cc. R.J. Robert Stewart of Christchurch nearly loses his Sunbeam Alpine 1592 cc, in front of A.D. Alf Bell from Palmerston, driving a Porsche Super 90 1588 cc.
Stewart was 2 nd overall and 2 nd in class ?B, with Bell 1 st overall and 1 st in class B.
NZ Specials and Racing Car race, Robert Stewart of Christchurch, driving his Sunbeam Alpine 1592 cc around the tight hairpin. He was 2 nd overall and 2 nd in class B over 2000 cc???. Winner was Ron Rutherford from Christchurch in his 260-M Zephyr 2682 cc.
