The Bursons are probably going to put more race laps on the BRM P207 than BRM did... What a joy hearing a V12, even if they are sensibly not revving it to its limits. As one of the helpers pointed out, getting bits for a Cosworth DFV F1 engine isn't too difficult. Not so, getting bits (any bits) for any BRM.

Yes Ray I agree, the BRM just sounded glorious and was a delight to see in the pits with the engine cover off.

Still mixing it as I continue with a more comprehensive detailing of the slides, which usually means stripping them and noting the film ID number (if any) and the sequence number. With previously mounted slides, in glass, they also need stripping and the glasses cleaning. Not a quick job.

Cadwell Park - a track that holds special memories for me, including my first ever sprint event (last in class). Next time, two years later, blitzed the class with the same car.
Then again in 1977, was comfortably leading the class in the Jubilee Hillclimb, 998cc Cooper engined Mini, until a friendly RAC Steward tipped me the nod, to say that if I won, the other regulars in that class, somewhat peeved at being beaten, would protest, because I hadn't got a front bumper on the Mini.
I borrowed one from a spectator before the final run and again, blitzed the class for the most satisfying of all class wins.

ERC,
your unkown car in 2822 above, is it a Sana F atlantic testing at silverstone
Thanks 928. I don't know how you managed to ID that, given that they only made a couple - and I must confess, I'd never heard of them.
I'm intrigued to know how you knew! I'm assuming it ran in the Shellsport Series, which included F1, F2, Atlantic etc. and also explains the presence of the Brabham BT44 which also ran in that series now and again and was at the same test session, along with the Dolomite Sprint and the de Cadanet Lola.
Given the lack of signage or numbers, probably only just completed.
Thanks. All I need to do now is pin down the date and work out why I was there. It might have been between finishing my training course and starting work in my current career, so I am guessing March 25th, two days before the Sana was at Snetterton, but it could even have been earlier.
Thanks so much 928. That has been an enjoyable, but very time consuming and educational trawl through several websites - something that a certain critic wouldn't really understand.
I am fighting the flu and waking at weird hours !
A little Sana info;
The Sana in Formula Atlantic specification.
The first Sana was a F Atlantic chassis that appeared in the Spring of 1976, it was designed by Gordon Fowell, designer of one of the 1973 Chris Amon-driven F1 Tecnos and like the Tecno it was built by John Thompson The new car was driven by Cyd Williams and it showed some promise with a 2nd place finish first time out. As a result of this success a F3 version was constructed, the F Atlantic versions continued to do well reasonably driven by Cyd Williams, Terry Perkins and Nick May. It was later raced in Libre races in the North of England as the Barton JTB3.
The F3 version of the F Atlantic car appeared only once, driven by Larry Perkins at the Monaco GP support race, it qualified on the last row of the grid and was retired by Perkins due apparently to its evil handling. Evidently Fowell had decided that his suspension design was correct and therefore didn't fit any roll bar adjustment. The F3 design was the same as the F Atlantic car with its full width nose and pronounced wedge shape provided by the monocoque and bodywork. Power came from a Brown-Ford engine that wasn't reckoned to be the most powerful around.

1976 Terry Perkins.

(Ken H)
hooray,i got one right.
sorry, i was around motor racing as often as possible during the 70's in the uk. just remember thinking it was not styled it just happened.
The 1977 car (my picture) was probably driven by Tony Rouff (USA) who finished a very creditable 6th at Snetterton, March 27th - but as a Formula 2 car, tailing the F5000's. Fields seemed to have been a bit erratic in the Shellsport series and the Sana was replaced by a Ralt. Rouff took out a win later in the year, but there weren't many F5000's running that day.
In 1967, I had moved south and purchased my first car (at 21 - it wasn't cheap running a car when wages were so low!) so I was then able to start going to events on my weekend's off (alternate weekends, though usually called in on one of the two days, making it a 13 day working fortnight, as we never ever got the midweek rest day's off).
One of the earliest solo 4 wheel trips was a second trip to Shelsley Walsh, though I had managed Mallory Park on two wheels.

the donington photo, was that at the aurora meeting with the F1 cars?
I don't think so. April 15th and it was a Classic meeting.
I took a lot of pics at the 1980 July meeting, several have already been shown on here. Apologies if any are repeats. Not quite as sharp as I would have liked but many are from the pile of slides previously rejected, often because without a telephoto lens of any sort, I was too far away, but being able to crop before scanning, sometimes makes for a half decent pic.

Always good to see a less common car. This variety is what makes these series so much more interesting than any one or two make/model series. Not so sure about the wings suddenly appearing.
Attachment 61721
Ray- wing was on the Monaro since October 1969.
Rogers Torana had it since the 80s.
Blues wing can be found on Phil Schuberts XA Coupe going back to early 90s. Made same time as Craig Pullmans one Just transferred from one car to another.
None of the above are suddenly appearing.
Anyone comment on Mark Allens Firenza..been running like this with us since 2013 at least.
Wings were always feature of Sports Sedans..Alfetta, Algie Monaro, Shewiery Mustang, Park Marina and many more
Thanks guys. Just that the wings looked new or I hadn't noticed them before.
Thanks Alan. If you are prepared to put money on it, that is all I need At least I can file it! Spent far too many hours lately trying to date slides. Sometimes you get the information almost as a side issue. Dating Silverstone and Curborough Sprints is a tough one and there are still one or two Pukekohe queries outstanding. About 95% only relate to dates.
