Dale, do you have a entry list for the HMC/ HSC class? Compared with previous festivals there seems to be very little communication.

Dale, do you have a entry list for the HMC/ HSC class? Compared with previous festivals there seems to be very little communication.
Just about all loaded up and ready to go, PH been ringing of the hook today, this is looking to be one of our better events!! Dale M
Looking good Dale. I am all loaded up as well so early start and see you mid day.....or there about.
Set up day for the Porsche Festival, Hampton Downs.
Nigel and Diana MacDonalds Ex-Red Dawson 67 Trans am Shelby mustang proved popular amongst spectators!! this is the THE real deal, it won the 69/70 NZ Saloon Car Championship.
Great to see it along side the Neil Tolich owned Fleetwood Mustang and Rayden Smiths Ex-Jim Richards Escort, 3 famous NZ historic saloons in a row, if they could talk!!!!!!!!
Every one enjoying an ale after a days racing, great to see Central Muscle Cars Tony Galbraith along enjoying the day!! HMC is for everyone regardless of the class they race in.
Im sure others will post further pics during the week
And I can't leave out Roaring Seasons Steve Holmes getting chatted up by a young lady!! lucky guy :)
Not so lucky for the young girl who will no doubt see the errors of earlier judgements later in life! (Only kidding Steve, she could do a lot worse!)
And when the Monaro comes out it will be 4 likely lads.
Monaro ran against Red, Jim and the Segedin Mustang at Port Hills Drags 1970 when Dave Bull owned it.
RUSS CUNNINGHAM-
I was talking with my good friend, Dave Bull, a couple of days back and during the course of conversation Dave mentioned running against Grady in the Monaro at the Port Road sprint meeting. Dave was driving the ex.Red Dawson Mustang and John is hopefull that someone who was there might have photographs or recall details of the Monaro. Incidentally, Dave and Grady knew each other well as both were Karori boys.
Here are a couple of photos taken over the weekend.
The two original Mustangs both owned at one stage by Red Dawson

Steve- sorry mate, but with you with a beer in you paw, she had the upper hand.
Steve- was it about this time I saw you talking to Ivan Bevins 4 year old son next to Craigys old black car and a couple of minutes later you told me that you had had a very interesting chat to Ivan about the XBGT Coupe.............?
Seems like there are a few cars dropping out of sight.
Haven''t seen the AMC Javelin for ages & didn't see the Plymouth Barracuda last weekend either.
We're missing them.
The Javelins stopped racing but he'll be back one day? I guess :) the Cuda had entered but he crashed at Puke and couldn't be repaired in time, Roger Williams wife was in hospital so he couldn't make it but is back this weekend and good ol Deano just needed a break. The good thing though is we have a new bunch of racers turning up with a fresh attitude and other cars been finished so like most motorsport events its a continuous revolving door.
This lovely E-mail just came thu from Rodger and Barbara Cunninghame, who came up from Invercargill.
Hi Dale
Just a quick note to thank you very much for organising such a fantastic weekend. Barbara and I had a great time and felt a real sense of belonging to a great group of enthusiasts. The racing was some of the most enjoyable I have participated in(a win helps) and your prizegiving, and BBQ were the icing on the cake.
Please pass on my thanks to your fellow directors, although without you steering it the way you do I don't think this exciting group of competitors would exist . Good luck next weekend, I shall be watching my laps with interest.
Regards Rodger Cunninghame
Great pictures, thanks Nigel.

From our local BOP Times thanks to Colin Smith.
Proud owner of the PDL(Replica)70 Mustang and HMC racer Tony Mexted said the Festival events was the most fun he'd had in a long time, I tend to agree with him by the looks!!
Helfee Girls supplied by our sponsor Helfee/Health house, Tauranga
H'mm, dark glasses. They said you'd go blind Tony...
Nice......
Is that Paul Fahey in the background?
Yes - Paul Fahey talking to Dennis Marwood.
Bruce Dyer and Mike Coory on the left side.
HMC Auditor and MSNZ COD Officer David Graham report from the festival.
If you find it difficult to read contact David Graham direct.
Is that bloke Colin Smith who shot the pics for the BoP Times feature the ex-Rhubarb pilot? Adrian Rimmer's cousin ?
Yep Paul on the right , hey ummmmm thought it was about the cars not the stars lol .... WELL done Tony
Nah mate,
Colin the photographer is quite a bit younger and less hairy - haven't seen the other one for a while! Colin has been avidly pushing motorsport and motoring with the BOPT for quite a few years and covers many motorsports on 4 wheels and 2.
Thanks Muz
how many people were there? that is spectators, rough idea needed please. i had posted this elsewhere but it got lost in the server crash. many thanks

We have the Legends meeting in a week and half(weekend after Easter) at Hampton Downs, hope to see some of you there!! will be missing a few entries due to clashing with the Beach Hop, those of us that do turn up will have some fun regardless!! this is also our last Historic event and the last weekend of daylight saving, not to be missed.
Wow, that's nasty. How did the marshal fare ?
Currently got this 65 Mustang under construction for HMC, be ready for next season and the MG Classic.
