The way I heard it is that it sat under a hedge for a while before the Impwerks guy (Brian Bradshaw?) bought it. I was told he stripped it and dumped the carcass as he felt it was beyond repair. Some years ago he had a Stiletto body on Trademe and was advertising that he could turn it into a replica/rebuild if a client with suitably deep pockets wanted....
Yes you are right Paul, I reviewed the article and images and that is exactly as per Russ Cunninghams comments as per Roger's comment. The thing for me, as I said back then, I have a familial connection with this car as my uncle was mechanic for Bryan Bate and Nev Brickley. He helped Bryan and Bob Homewood change the power plant

On behalf of John Mc
Just a reminder to all HSSIA and other drivers competing at a National event of new clothing safety rule, all competitors will have been notified by MSNZ email of this last year.-
HMC/HSC newsletter-
*As of the 1st April 2018 the clothing standards for racing have been updated.
Please check this now and make sure that all your clothing is compliant with the new regulations. All our races come under National Race...not club.
Of special note is the regulation on race suits and undergarments which are now compulsory. Socks must be mid-calf, and undergarments full sleeve and long legs. No tee shirts or shorts.
Our last race meeting of the season is on the 7th April and the new regulations will be in force so please make sure that you have this sorted as you can believe it will be checked by the scrutineers*
So scants ,briefs, thongs, budgie smugglers will now NOT be acceptable as underwear, or the only thing you can wear under a one piece race suit.
Under a one piece race suit must be long-johns, and upper torso must be waist to neck, wrist to wrist--.
Effectively 2 layers now.
No synthetics allowed, check for materials detail in MSNZ rule book-
https://www.motorsport.org.nz/sites/...0Sch%20A_0.pdf
So do not roll up to Taupo without these as the scrutineers will be wanting to see them.
I am so glad it is not the group coodinators Responsibility and Liability to do a personal check on each driver to make sure they comply..........

Hi John and others,
Please be aware that MSNZ issued Manual Amendment 35105 on 25 Jan 2018 stating that "Garments (underwear) manufactured to this standard in a ‘short sleeved and/or ‘short pant’’ version can be accepted" - this is applicable for all levels of competition in New Zealand EXCEPT FOR Premier Championship Races and Championship Rallies.
The manual amendment can be viewed here:
http://www.motorsport.org.nz/sites/d... Amendment.pdf
Chicane Racewear sell both long and short versions here:
http://www.chicane.co.nz/products.asp?CategoryID=4
In case this suggests that I'm directing competitors towards Chicane, Harris Race Radios sell compliant underwear too (it complies with the top level requirements but costs a bit more than the Chicane products):
http://www.freemracewear.co.nz/nomex-fireproof-set.html
Remember that you still need to buy the clothing that complies - this amendment does not make your brand new 100% cotton tee shirt and boxers acceptable.
Cheers,
Alan Hyndman.
Item 1-
Underwear-
Garments
designed to be
worn between the

for head, hands and feet
Am I blind as I see nothing here that Alan says about short clothing.
Please attach quote , NOT where to find it
(4) SFI 3.2A/1˂ means SFI Quality Assurance Specifications 3.2A/1 and 3.2@A/3. The SFI 3.2A Spec label will be found on the left arm or the collar
(5) All cotton garments must have a manufacturer label stating 100% Cotton (No ‘Spandex or Synthetics).
(6) Garments manufactured to this standard in a ‘short sleeved and/or ‘short pant’’ version can be accepted.
From the amendment quoted John.
As a former 50% owner of Chicane for ten years (2000 - 2010), please note that buying from a reputable dealer is crucial. There have been several instances of counterfeit suits being sold, which has had major negative repercussions for genuine FIA approved NZ and Australian manufacturers. When your own label is copied by some underhand individuals, not manufactured to the same high quality standards, lives are put at risk.
Getting FIA approval is a very protracted and expensive process and for a company the size of Chicane, which on a world scale is very small, there are no economies of scale in manufacturing. If you see this as a plug for Chicane, fine, but with over 30 years in the NZ clothing trade, I'm passionate about local manufacturing whenever possible.
As an aside, race suits are NOT fireproof. They are fire resistant only - and for a limited amount of time.
Ray and Alan Hyndman ....thank you for this ,
and it will be quoted to the scrutineers and hopefully the CAN be accepted will become WILL be accepted.
All I want is no surprises for my drivers on the day.
Hot off the press.......
Gordon Burr and his Alfetta have just completed 15 consecutive laps in testing at Taupo today...... with no gearbox problems

Gordy has completed 15 laps of testing
So I saw a little video clip tonight, of a Charger being fired up today for the first time in a while after a bit of work. Looking forward to seeing it back on the track soon.
Hi Everyone-
here are the current entries for Taupo April 27,28., our last race of the season
A great field and we welcome Angus Fogg stepping up from his boulevard cruiser Mustang into a real, purpose built Italian race car.
There are 4 X 6 lap races ,as 3 X 8 is too hard on the brakes and requires carrying a bigger fuel load.
More opportunities though for the minnows like Neil Deighton, Darcy May and my self to come through to win a handicap.
A big welcome to all who are going to visit us , we hope you will enjoy the show.

Great Grid John. Good to see Angus in the Alfetta. He will need to brush up on his Italian so he can communicate with the Italian part of it....
if that is Gordon's Alfetta, I hope he is OK. Lovely man.
Whoops, missed that John! Sorry, no I won't be there. No doubt Nigel will do the honours. Well done for another good field.
There’s no help for him then if he likes warm beer.....
Even we English don't like warm beer! Don't care much for beer anyway, being a cider drinker...
Found this on Facebook. Haven't seen this number of cars in a long time.

That was an engine blow!!!!
So ,, who was declared the eventual winner after the final discussion at the caravan?
50 days to race day. To quote Big Kev, "I'm excited!!"
In-car video from the first scratch race at MG Manfield 2019 on the Saturday. Only David's second meeting in the car, still a lot of issues to sort out........

Well done David. Tidy drive. Your Dad brought me up to date yesterday.
Well as some of you may be aware that unfortunately John McKechnie resigned from the Secretary’s duties, Committee and the group earlier this year.
Bruce Thompson stood in until a replacement could be found to help Historic Sports Sedans Club move forward.
The other week Roger Williams put his hand up and after a Committee Meeting last weekend he was elected Chairman and Bruce Dyer elected Secretary.
The remaining committee consists of,
Jennifer Mossman, Treasurer,
Roger Davis, Eligibility Officer,
Club Captain, Adrian Dobbe,
Race Coordinator, Graeme Park,
Lower North Island Rep, Graham Barnes.
I realise that some of the members are on this forum and we will soon be advising of an AGM but in the meantime we would like to hear from anyone who has a car that they think is compliant to contact me.
We are also in the planning stages of a programme of race meetings for this coming season and would like as much support as possible.
Planned Meetings are..
MG Classic, Manfeild in November
Taupo Historic GP, January.
Legends of Speed, HD, March.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Bruce
