This LVVTA approved machine looked to be interesting.

This car followed us part of the way until we pulled over and waved it past. I was somewhat surprised that some of our group had no idea what it was. Later on at Leadfoot, had a chat with the driver - Austin Healey/Jensen Healey driving, Chris White!

The first of Adam Jones' mini interview videos from the event - Scott Dixon (with a couple of my photographs included!)

Next up will probably be Neil Tolich

A very embarrassed Grant Clegg slinks back into the paddock with a bit of Rod Millen's greenery attached to the front left of the BMW... This had caused a slight delay whilst he was extricated from his orienteering expedition.

Every now and again, you get the right combination of position, colours and light, to make a favourite pic.

From all accounts, maybe Paul Radisch would have preferred something with even more horsepower.

There is an obvious link between the next two photographs other than they are both BMWs...

One of the most impressive performances was that of Rick Bone who hustled his 2 litre Datsun up the hill in fine style.

Your hint about the 2 Beemers wouldn't have anything to do with (in one case current) driver and navigators way back when? wink
Paul Adams?
Yup. Spot on. And the link then to #844/4 is?
Who's the Humber 80? Not the ex-Heasley car, is it?

Allan Woolf, father of Sue Adams, Pauls wife
Alan must be getting on a bit. I remember him peddling his Triumph Vitesse around the place with great gusto, and wondered just how much work did that car have....a stock Vitesse usually wasn't very....
If that is the Heasly car, then it's certainly a valuable piece of NZ racing history.
I did not say they worked though

Probably the only real grizzle I have about the event is the programme. Someone needs to proof read it thoroughly as even though I have only really skimmed through it, there are far too many errors. According to the programme this 2015 UCM has a 14.25 litre engine and is fitted with a 4 speed Darracq gearbox and at 100mph, is doing 1650rpm.... I'm not sure what 'breaks' it is fitted with .

Racing Ray Williams first time out in the ex-Tolich Perana "Bodie", merely showed that the controversial twin grooved tyres don't cope with a damp track. Ray wanted to have a run at Hampton Downs on week 2 of the Porsche Festival (he is a paid up ERC driver) but was far too busy helping with the organisation.

The lovely Riley Moth. I kept missing it as I was distracted talking to people when I should have been concentrating on the track!

Yes Ray, you are right. The entrants submit the info for the programme and it sems to be printed without editing. Shame that car comes from a University team :)
Last time I was there photos were transposed too!
Check out Adam Jones' page - for links to his videos of Leadfoot. Please note that Adam shot and produced the videos. I only supplied a few photographs!

In ERC circles, this is the now famous 'Sandy' Mygind. An infrequent racer, he managed two handicap wins at the Porsche Festival as he improved rapidly, leading to (strenuously denied...) accusations of sand-bagging!

Batch 15 - Final batch from this event. There were a few cars I missed and a few cars that obviously didn't run, but what I have posted on here is a fair cross section.
Fabulous, thanks Ray.
Hi Ray. Do you happen to have any more of me in the Gulf Cobra?
Got a couple I think - one static whilst about to head out of the paddock and I think one side shot, left to right. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you what I have.
Back to photos from the archives or tidying up those I'd already shrunk to size for this thread.
Randomly dipping into the archives and being a bit ruthless, deleting images that are duplicates and trying to tidy up some of those that need it, so expect a few posts from any sections of the library.
Modern sports and sports racing cars particularly don't have the same appeal as the older stuff. Now I have to study the race programme to identify the modern cars. Sad.

Laptop doesn't have the same software as the PC, but shrinking full size images to 950 pixels max and 185kb is a real pain. What software does anyone else use? On the PC, I spend ages on Photoshop, doing one image at a time and can only upload 1 image at a time too. There must be a better way...
Saturday pic. Bruce made a race of it - and still won. Sunday, he had a touch of the Dan Gurney's in race two when the gear lever parted company. Several others had gearbox issues over the weekend.
Since Windows XP days I have been using the Windows PowerTool image-resizer. It is no longer made/supported by Mircosoft but the tool is still alive and well. I use it all the time. It is fast and simple.
https://imageresizer.codeplex.com/
Once installed on your Windows PC - just select the picture or pictures you want - right mouse click and select the options you want. Job done.
Thanks for that.
Have installed "imageresizer" - which will save me a lot of time!
Next query - how to upload a batch to TRS rather than individual files!
Thanks Mike. Had a few strays on the Laptop so used the resizer on them. Another 'Mix of pics'...
The All Blacks?
