Love this photo. Check out the cars in the background. Looks like a Chrysler Airflow in amongst the Fords etc.

Hi Steve, the car does survive- but not in it,s original format. After the drag racing career was over it was converted to road car configuration which included fitting wind up windows and it now runs a modified Windsor. Apparently Bolwell built the body and chassis specifically to take the Elephant engine and the rear body and chassis sections were tubbed for the huge drag slicks.Quite a wild machine in it,s day !Attachment 10449
got these from a mate, maybe should be on models thread. neat
Thought you might appreciate this, it's a 2 cylinder BDA (the remains of a blown-up 4 cylinder BDA) powered Fiat 500.

Mid-year, where are the cars now
Hi Rod,all of our GTHO,s from that era ended up in Melbourne. The White GTS 350 has been treated to a full resto and is still located in Brisbane .Back then they were relatively affordable as second hand cars and a savvy buyer would frequent the several Finance Company repossession sales as many slightly used and abused Falcon GT,s and Monaros were put up for tender by sealed envelope bid and sometimes a great buy could be had if you turned out to be the highest bidder.
My Track-Red Phase 3 was in the Ford Discovery Centre( Geelong ) a few years back and the Mediterraneanne -Blue HG GTS-350 ( attached ) was in the Harndorf Museum in Adelaide for a while. Collectively they would all be worth a small fortune today

Pete, I really love all these old photos. Glad you had the foresight to have taken them. Many young guys with fast cars don't ever think at the time of photographing them. They're usually too busy racing through life, and moving on to the next thing that takes their fancy.
