The Julian Mazjub Maserati (background) should have been shared with ERA driver Duncan Ricketts, but I think this was the last we saw of it on track, Friday qualifying.

ERA R4D - looks very heavy at the front compared to modern race cars.

For anyone heading to the UK (or in the UK!), the Silverstone Exhibition features a BRM 60 years tribute, celebrating Graham Hill's 1962 win, open until October 31st.
Initially, I couldn't get this and three others to upload. I ended up opening them in Photoshop and re-saving them, and all is now OK. Computers....
Still a pile of Goodwood's to post, but good to get to Hampton Downs on Sunday for their finale meeting. Favourite grids were the Roycroft Trophy/Formula Juniors and the Classic Trial.
Question ERC.
" Roycroft Trophy/Formula Juniors "
The Stanguellini - photo in previous post - Is that the former " Colin Waite " car ? [ RIP Colin ].
Was with Colin, his son Paul and family in the paddock at Ardmore 1989 when Colin raced there.
and
" the Classic Trial. ".
Wondering if Allan Horner was there in the Sprite ?? - he had just competed at Targa in the VCC class and had a great time.
Raced Saturday but not Sunday

Speedex - now for sale.

Just 4 Classic touring cars ran. Andre & Warwick Mortimer.

Car 11 is a proper Lotus 11 with Coventry Climax power. Pity the rollover scaffolding spoils the sleek look of one of Chapman's best sport cars. (See #4289/2)

The Alvis Goodwin Special sadly expired in practice.

Later, there was a tremendous "bang" from the Elva DKW that had people running in from all directions! Just a massive backfire from the 2 stroke.

Ray, have you received my email?
Sorry Rhys, yes I have. Sounds an interesting project.
One aspect of Goodwood that is appreciated by visitors but often overlooked by journalists, is the humour that is up front. In addition to these 'workmen' (regulars) we have spivs being chased by cops, a couple of guys with step ladders who appear in the stand, with a supervisor, and pretend to clean a non-existent window, a posse of St Trinian's schoolgirls with school Ma'am and so on. Love it!

John Denney and Aston Martin, now back from a stint overseas. The great thing about the Classic Trial is that it doesn't matter if you are a beginner to track work or have extensive international race experience, all are welcome.

ERC,
" John Denney and Aston Martin " Understand that is a very rare version from Aston Martin - looks quite mean on track.
Thanks for the Pix

Note the number plate on the pedal car to the right.

Those pedal cars (J40) are very sought after, and very, very stupid money.
...and the most stupid waste of precious track time - especially for paying spectators stuck out on the track, well away from the chicane to the start finish line with nothing to look at. Same applies for the 15 minute Stirling Moss tributes prior to or straight after the Moss procession. Lord March could just as easily have paid his tribute whilst the cars were circulating.
Sunday:
9:00am - 9:25am - Chichester cup, FJ.
9:45am - 10:10am motorbikes
10:25am - pedal cars
10:50am Track parade - Eroica Brittania Cycle Moment
11:30am - 11:55am - Richmond Trophy (old F1)
12:20pm - 12:45pm - Brookland's Trophy (Pre war sports cars).
1:00pm - Track parade - Victory Parade
2:00pm - Track parade & tribute to Stirling Moss.
2:30pm - 3:30pm RAC TT.
So look at the time when there are NO real cars racing on track. From track opening to 12 noon, just 50 minutes and by 2:30pm, 75 minutes, by which time, if it is cool and damp or even worse, wet, if you leave your paid for, roving grandstand seat, especially at the end of the straight you can't get back in again as there may well be a long queue! If it is fine and you have managed a position on the front row, you daren't leave it, as there are umpteen rows of people behind ready to grab your place.
Don't get me wrong, I love Goodwood, but I'm not keen on hanging around looking at bare tar seal for hours. Next time, I think it will be Friday only.
I should have posted this 2 weeks ago to celebrate 60 years since Bruce McLaren won the Monaco GP.

See an A105 for Kevin Hirst in the last group.
and back a few posts another photo of the Aston Martin Zagato - the 1987 version..
Thanks ERC, great photos as always.
Getting near the last batches from HD for the season. No Caffeine & Classics on the North Shore each month to tide us through winter, so once the Goodwood pics have run out, I'll just have to ferret through the older stuff.
Yes. more BRM pics...
