ERC, Thanks for the Healey picture and the great one of Mr " NZ Buckler " Bruce Sutcliffe and one of the Bucklers hwe was connected with. Would like to borrow them both, and put the Buckler one on the UK based Buckler groups page.
Some very interesting cars in your recent posts, keep them coming !
Cheers
Roger

in post 4246. what is the big engine needing the extra intakes? Perhaps the Lotus Buick??
Car #26? Just a Lotus 15 with 2 litre engine.
1971 Prescott - genuine Sebring MGC.

2004 Pukekohe. When the Leisurertime Series as was, got too big, it was firstly split into saloons and sports/GT. Tracer saloons sponsored by Greg Bellingham, Leisuretime Sports/GTs (Geoff Bonham). However, speed differentials in both groups caused major issues hence the move to a speed group split, which was easier to manage.

I meant car #24 Ray.
Is it a bonnet protrusion - or a laurel wreath laying on the bonnet ?
That is ex-pat kiwi Roger Wills' car. Still a Lotus 15 with 1960cc engine and yes, a laurel wreath on the bonnet.
That was the last race on the Saturday at 5:50pm, but I was knackered by then (I'd been there since 7:15am and was still hobbling with a badly sprained ankle so got away before the crowds built up. Sad (for me) that every year, they have that as the final race of the day, so I have yet to catch them other than in practice and it is one of my favourite race groups.
Pics disappeared - again. Grrrrr! Reposted.
Once upon a time, you carried just 12 glass plates for the day's photography...

By 1983, the budget may have run to 2 or maybe even on occasions, 3 rolls of film.

1986 and we still had spectators enjoying the racing - with decent sized, varied grids. (Apologies if this has been posted before, but rescanned.)

The real joy of Goodwood is seeing cars we never see in NZ in action and this Frazer Nash single seater may not be a front runner, scrapping with the ERA's and Maseratis, but who cares?
Attachment 72347
Who would have thought that a humble 1928 Frazer Nash saloon would lap an Alfa Romeo? One of my absolute favourite cars of the whole weekend.

Cracked the 1 1/2 million views, by quite some margin Ray!
And a massive thank you to Steve for the opportunity to share the pics that would otherwise languish on my computer, unseen. I suppose that means it is time to make another donation to keep the site running.
I hope that what I post is in fact appreciated by casual visitors and not just the keen regulars.
The number of views is important as it ensures the retention of the MSNZ media accreditation - with the backing of the Historic Racing Club.
Pity that I haven't been able to attend NZ events recently and the loss of the monthly Caffeine & Classics which was just 10 minutes, away, still hurts. It was always not just about the cars, but catching up with other enthusiasts.

Patrick Blakeney-Edwards was a busy driver as he also ran 'Owlet' in the same two driver race. All these chicane pics were Friday practice/qualifying.

Hopefully, I'll get to a couple of NZ race meetings before too long. I never thought I'd need to rely on 2021 Goodwood for six months!
ERC, thanks for the picture, not a car I know of !.
Would like to know whose it is and the Chassis AHS ... number.
Have " borrowed " the photo as you would expect.
Cheers and thanks
Roger

The unique Kieft. Love it that one offs or sole surviving examples of any car are given a blast.

ERC and Ken H,
Thank you both and ERC for the extra photo - now think I have heard - read, of the car, and the driver !. More for the archives !
A thumbs up from Paul. Not for just spotting me, but for recovering from a spin!
First NZ meeting for a while and as always, great to catch up with so many. I left after practice - as usual, Pukekohe not exactly the best place for photographs. The track was very greasy too.

For next season, both groups will probably run under the 'Arrow Wheels' banner (still in 2 speed groups), as although the AES naming was carried on after the unfortunate passing of Steve Harris, it was without sponsorship.
Three grids of BMW's - but pics from just the one.
Team Kiwi Racing's corporate presence, complete with one pit garage with tables for guests etc., looked a little incongruous for a low key club meeting. Not sure about the signwriting spelling though...
I'm not really much of a Porsche fan, but there are exceptions and this is one of them.

Some of the Talbot-Lago pics will be useful when I get around to building my 1/24 SMER kit (was Merit) - hopefully with decent wire wheels and tyres, not the plastic ones as supplied.

That may be resolved as the afore mentioned equipment arrives today :)

The original Merit
Great model! Presumably the Herb Deeks wheels?
Oldfart's son is investigating 3D printing wire wheels (and Dunlop wheels) but the sizing is crucial.
I think the older cars such as ERA's ran larger diameter wheels in period than they do today. Same applies to Alta's and one or two others.
Yours look 1000% better than the originals.
Attachment 72429
There was a time when the Holmes Lotus ran 13" wheels, but for originality, has reverted to the correct size.
