My 3 pic's above were taken by Martin(Jack)Dabishire, he'd get photographers pass's to Baypark and he'd get me in as long as i held his camera gear while he took pic's, so here's the both of us, kids about 16/17 at the time, out in nomans land gettin ready to run just incase one of the race cars lost it!! snappin pictures away!! thought it was pretty cool at the time!!

Neat photo Craig! Keep 'em coming. That would have been taken during the 1974/75 season, the first year the car was run, and before Robin Officer added the box flares. Check out the Sidchrome Tools Landcruiser in behind.

Hey Craig, are you going to restore it with the injected Bartz engine ? It is so neat to have good engine bay shots.
Bruce.

Did the car race after this for sale ad Craig, In hind sight it was a steal.

I don't think it did race again Bruce. And yes, it was a good price, considering around this time a front running Sports Sedan such as Wayne Huxfords V8 Capri or Inky Tullochs similar car were lapping Manfeild in around 70 - 72 seconds, as a complete package it would have been hard to beat.
But it didn't sell, and it got even cheaper. Here it is still for sale in 1983, less engine:

Brings back good memories of some great racing. I was at Baypark that day. And being a Ford fan it was fantastic to see the PDL Mustang which had been around for some time beat Moffats Monza (being the latest machinery from the states) in all three races. Moffat was from happy! The saying was true that day, an oldie but a goodie! :)
I think this website is incredible!!

I was overseas when this raced so have yet to have the pleasure of seeing it in action [hanging the tail out would be good!]

Did the Victor race briefly with no signage on the side, between the Brambles and Cossack sponsorship? Or is it just the sun has made the lettering hard to see?
John McKechnie
05-21-2013, 06:45 AM
Brambles had 63 on the side.
No sign writing has 1 on it with the word SHELL on front of bonnet.
With Cossack ,1 stayed, SHELL now not there ( see colour pic.)
So there was that time in between sponsors.

Thanks John, well spotted with the numbers. To have the number 1 meant he must have won the championship, so this would be either at the end of the 1976 season, or the start of the 1977 season?

Hi Stacey brothers I was wondering how the rebuild is going on the ex Jack Nazer Victor.
It will be great to see it racing again in its current condition or restored.
Nothing replaces the good old days keep it up.
