A tribute to him in the local evening paper of the town of his birth last week.
How I loved my Les Leston ties and remember buying a scarf with race car badge logos on it for a close female friend.
Alas, I couldn't afford a car and by the time I was 21 and acquired my first 998cc Mini Cooper, Gordon Spice was the local supplier of go faster bits from his Ashford Middlesex shop.
But, still remember Les Leston and DAD10 - his Lotus Elite - that is still racing in UK Historic events as a permanent reminder of the original bolt on 'Go faster' craze.
