It is sad to advise that Trevor Sheffield a member of TRS for many years has recently passed away.

This from the " Legacy Funerals " website

" Trevor SHEFFIELD Obituary
SHEFFIELD, Trevor Ralph. Born February 13, 1929. Sheffield, Trevor Ralph, Sadly passed way in Auckland on 12th November 2024 aged 95. Loved father of Jenny, Paul, Adam and Jared. Rest in peace the brilliant toy maker. "

I heard from John Windelburn about his passing today.

Trevor was a keen racing driver and a Member of both Northern Sports Car Club and Auckland Car Club from the early 1950's.

His first " Special " racing car was a cut down Fiat 509, which he competed in from 1953 onwards and he went on to be a serious competitor in various cars including his Daimler SP250 which he had during the 1960's and entered in the First " Gold Leaf Three Hour Race for improved production cars - which include Saloons and Sports Cars at the Annual " Wills Six Hour " meeting.

a few images of Trevor and his cars.

The Fiat 509 Special - on completion - a photo from Trevor's own archives - kindly sent to me a few years ago.

Trevor was a great commentor on the Roaring Season and often " corrected " what myself and others had written.

You will be missed Trevor
