This is one of the reasons I've not had a lot of time lately to dedicate to The Roaring Season.
Racing Mustangs - An International Photographic History, is a book I wrote for UK publisher Veloce Publishing in 2019. It was an epic creation that I'm super proud of. It celebrates the Ford Mustang in circuit/road racing, spanning the years 1964 - 1986. But it focuses largely on the years 1964 - 1970, when Ford Motor Company was actively involved.
The book is 175 pages, and features 300 photographs, and approx 30,000 words. Only period photos were used. Many have never been published before.
The book details the Mustang from its early competition programs in European endurance rallying, to the Shelby GT350 production sports car program in SCCA B/Production, and then the SCCA Trans-Am sedan championship from 1966. Although the Trans-Am was the biggest and most successful sedan championship in the world in the late 1960s, sedan/touring car racing was popular everywhere, and Mustangs were prevalent. And as such, various Mustangs that competed in the UK/Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and even Mexico appear.
Its a beautiful piece of work, and I'm really excited by it. It'll be sold and made available in most countries, but Veloce Publishing are offering a 35% discount off the RRP for a limited time during the quarantine period. So if touring car racing, Trans-Am racing, or Mustangs are something you have an interest in, go order yourself a copy: https://www.veloce.co.uk/store/Racing-Mustangs-An-International-Photographic-History-1964-1986-p145293215
I'll post up some page samples.
