This appeal has been made by Andrew, Kerry's son - hopefully someone may be able to help and visit him in Palmerston North Hospital.

Many Thanks and a belated Merry Xmas to all.

Can you help Andrew Grant?

Dads in a Coma and you might be able to help. My greatly loved father “Kerry Grant” has been in a Coma since Xmas Eve. He’s a little bit responsive and can occasionally say “I Love You” very quietly, but the more time that passes the less chance of him coming out of it. Dad was a very famous racing driver with great results around NZ against the likes of Jim Clark and Bruce Mclaren. This photo shows Dad (No 14) leading Bruce Mclaren, Graham Hill and Jim Clark. He almost died from a monumental single seater accident which left him in critical condition and in hospital for 4 months but he got through. Having visitors could save his life and get him out of this Coma before it’s too late. If you know motorsport people please share this post as they may know him. it could save his life if they visit. You could also tag people that this would be relevant to but a share might be easier. If you want to visit Dad in Palmy hospital we would love to have you visit and talk to/be with him. Even if just for 2 minutes. Please contact myself (Andrew) on 021 309448 for more info. Text or phone call is fine. If you live in Foxton or Palmy please also inform others who may know him. Thank you and God bless.

That is sad news but with some help as requested could be a benefit to Kerry's comfort.
He was a great racer - something was very special about the way he could get the most from his little A40.
Attach a couple of photos pinched from this site!

Andrew,
It was such a privilege to meet your father in January as he was everyone's hero back in the era when he drove and could challenge the best in the world. He did mention some of the struggles he had been through over the years but he certainly seemed to enjoy meeting up with so many familiar faces at the Taupo Historic meeting.
Kerry is certainly in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
