Our local high school here in Santa Ynez, California arranges a car show each year to help buy equipment and tools etc. for their Automotive Department.
I was a late entrant and parked next to a beautifully restored 1962 Austin Healey 3000 and a 1971 Datsun wagon.
There was something there for everyone from an old 1925 Indy racer to 2018 Chevy Corvettes.
I managed to take some pics while most folk were at the prize givings. I do not have the information for each photo but please feel welcome to fill in for me and please share any car show pics on this thread also.

Ken H, very timely as I went to the Greerton Vintage Fayre on Saturday [ only about an hours drive from Kiwitahi ?? ] with my Brother -in - law and our wives .. took quite a few photos, no Healey's but some interesting English USA and Europeans, from 1920's to recent..
Just have to download the pics [ today maybe ].

A good idea for their own thread [ Car Shows ] as I have posted my earlier ones on the Dunedin Thread, which is a bit disconnected.
Cheers

Go for it.

A straight six with a supercharger on the front makes for a rather long engine bay.

Sorry Roger for not having more Rat Rod photos from Santa Ynez.
The cool thing is the high school has it's own stock-car team. #11. (Wish they had one of those when I was at Morrinsville H.S. in 1965 then we could have had Malcolm Gill as our coach and Rhys mum, Mrs. Nolan, keeping us fed with scones and mince pies etc.)

Donn states the car is a Bathurst Homologated One and as such quite rare.

The number plate " AF6299 " would have thought relating to the 1964-65 licencing year - but this indivates 1976 and is a standard plate ??

A bit more of Santa Ynez, CA.
Our neighbor found this Ford Fairlane behind a remote barn about 20 years ago in long grass and full of rodents etc.. He gave the owner $ 100 and had it towed home. When he got it started you could hear it for miles !. It is a credit to him now and is a beautiful restoration.

Yes, I too always knew these as a Nash Metropolitan.

The centre grille badge is a stylised " N " - they were of course built for Nash and had that Refrigerator style door tops and the slab sides that were Nash styling of the time.
The second time an English Company had made the Nash connection, the earlier one was the Nash - Healey, pre Austin connection.
Unsure if there is any Austin Badging on the outside - must do some more research !!

Briefly

" History of the 1955 - 1961 Austin Nash Metropolitan. The Metropolitan was an innovative car that was a result of a joint project between Austin Motors and the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation of Wisconsin. It was made in Longbridge from 1953 to 1961 and is regarded as a highly desirable tourer on both sides of the Atlantic. "
from a link by Hagerty, not Wikipaedia

There is quite a piece on Wikipaedia -

The engine was the 1200cc version of the " B " motor used in Austin A40's/ A50's of the early 1950's and on through the Farina range and of course the MG A and B into the 1980's ..

Milan,
John McKechnie might get excited when he sees that yellow Monaro in the background of your first photo, as his Monaro was first developed in 1969 at Spinner Black's workshop which was about 1/2 mile away from where you took this photo in Morrinsville.
Thanks for sharing.
