Yep. Unfortunately this was to be a fairly busy time for me with Legends of Speed, Beach Hop, Nostalgia Drags, Frankton Thunder etc etc. Never mind, stayin' alive is top of the bucket list now.

Have nothing new myself as haven't been anywhere for ages, and now unlikely to for some time.
Have to go through my archives as well.

#268 That is Mike Sexton, Roger, and it is a recreation. Mike also has a mint Healey 100/4 as well. Not to mention some other rather nice cars... Lives in Takapuna. He was a client of mine for rather a long time. In fact, in later years, my major client!

Just found out today that I was successful in my application for a msnz accreditation, so it's back into the motorsport phase again.
Looking forward to the Historic GP in a couple of weeks. Should be really good with a few cars that I haven't seen before.
Well done Nigel. I won't be at Taupo I'm afraid, so look forward to pics of cars not seen before.
Should probably change my user name to Silver 08...

Nigel,
These last photos bring back memories as I remember my dad taking us to a stock car meet in the 1950s at Te Rapa and then of course we would make Hamilton's Forest Lake the big weekend event in the late 60s and 70s before racing back to Morrinsville in our assortment of Minis and Anglias etc.
For obvious reasons I will sadly not be attending the Historic Taupo meet this month so you will have to be my eyes Nigel.
I will also miss our annual Morrinsville musings together.
All the best to one and all and I look forward to the photos.

Great to see you have got thru the system Nigel. Tim Hill, Tony Roberts and myself battled to get it sensible....
HMC/HSC have a grid of 37 cars and we have closed off apart from members.....we are far from dead yet and have started up in the South Island with Wayne Perkins.

Donn still owns & drives this Mini.
Yes Donn got it new in 1973 a Bathurst Clubman GT [ 1275 motor ] - special Australian Mini and sold it a few years later, he bought it back in the late 80's early 90's and fully restored it - [need to check my stuff -] have seen his car a couple of times at Car Shows - Greerton Vintage Fayre a year or two back, and Tauranga VCC show recently.
Great to see it on track.

Yes, I load all my images via my desktop PC, and while I can load 6 at a time, it does take quite a long time before the site will let me upload. Sometimes I get impatient and just give up.

Love the special saloons, as they show individuality, which equals variety. Alfetta and Marina V8's are the perfect examples. They don't even have to be winners to be favourites.

Not sure Nigel/Milan, but 'DayGlo' cannot be mixed from rgb (red blue green) nor the three primary colours, (red, yellow and blue), nor the three computer/film colours of cyan, magenta and yellow.
'DayGlo' was I believe the original trade name and back in my screen printing days, the DayGlo inks were quite specific.
From Google:
"DayGlo fluorescent pigments, a new class of pigments based on fluorescent dyes and polymeric materials, were developed between the 1930s and 1950s by scientists at Switzer Brothers, Inc. (now Day-Glo Color Corp.). These pigments absorb various light frequencies (visible and invisible to the human eye) and reemit them, producing intense visible colours that appear to glow, even in daylight. Switzer Brothers, Inc., introduced novel processes that eliminated the limitations in light fastness and colour strength of earlier fluorescent pigments, resulting in new applications in advertising, packaging, flaw detection and safety."
Hope that helps. In a nutshell, without the appropriate pigments, you cannot reproduce DayGlo.

That is a good number Nigel, 2660 - and just happens to be the Cubic Capacity in cc's of the Austin Healey 100 and 100 S.
Great photos.
Cheers

Thanks Roger. Talking of Austin Healeys, I saw this one at the Beach Hop back in March.

Sure was the Year - I started work and got paid in " Pounds Shilling and Pence " , and not a lot - either.
Also started going to Pukekohe regularly for the Motor Racing.
Do you have the whole book Nigel, would be a nice one to have ??
Would like the TR4A Road Test for my archives, had a 1967, and maybe the MGB GT too !!

Can only load 1 image today!!
I have several images that just won't upload at all. No idea why. I limit to 4 per post as it seems that despite the small image size, on machines with maybe limited memory, they won't display at all, further down the page.

Great images Nigel, thanks.
That 1957 Chevrolet #49 looks mean, and how period alongside the Mark One Jaguar #87,
Cheers

I'm the one who moaned to Ray when he posted too many images further down the page! Nigel, your posts 417 and 419 won't open for me, and I now have a very late model PC, so it's not my storage issue. I just want to be able to see the cool photos!
Can you explain what the effect is here , for example the Capri in post 401 looks tiny compared to the Escort behind it?

I've been having problems with access to the page for months. Some days I've been unable to open it at all. I sent a message to Steve a couple of days ago and he's going to have a look to see what the problem is. Hopefully he can tweak it so it performs a wee bit better. Not sure about post 401. It may be an optical illusion caused by the focal length of the lens. I would have had it set on 600mm which, multiplied by a factor of 1.6 for the crop sensor, would have been equal to about 960mm. I can't think of any other reason. Perhaps the Capri has shrunk. ;)
