Greetings all. Would anybody have race results from the New Zealand Gold Star series? In particular I would be interested in the 1956/57 to 1976/77 seasons. There seems to be no resource for this anywhere. Would appreciate any info Thanks, Aleš.

" GPfacts " the stuff is out there, Have a look on the following Facebook Pages ;

" Old New Zealand Motor Racing " - " https://www.facebook.com/groups/429302310781897/ "
and
" South Island Motorsport " - " https://www.facebook.com/groups/431588630352950/ "

Will take a bit of searching ;

I have some information in various Books and Magazines but am away from my " Den " for a couple of weeks-there will be some stuff in these, which I will look up.
From my recollection 1956/57 would have been the first season of the " Gold Star " events for New Zealand based drivers. Gold Star points were awarded in International events but only to NZ Resident Drivers.

This book published in 1963 had details going back into the 1950's on many events and the results.

There was Gold Star at circuits and Gold Star at Hillclimbs.

Fantastic, I'll check the facebook links for sure, and anything else would be much welcomed and appreciated. If easier, please contact me at infoGPfn@gmail.com. No worries about time...I have waited so long that a couple of weeks makes no difference! Thanks.

I am after the circuit series, where Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme were among the championship winners. If easier, please contact me at infoGPfn@gmail.com. Thanks.

That was my first step and they referred to other links...which finally led me here :-)
