Another MG person passed away Friday. Although a lower profile even than Geoff Bonham, who passed away a few days earlier, Ross will be remembered as the guy who put the V8 engine into the MGB raced so successfully by Grant Kern.

Although known to be fighting poor health, Ross reappeared on the racing scene again, briefly, a couple of years ago with an MG Midget, recently purchased by MGCC (Auckland) Club Captain, Darryl Bretherton.

In a strange coincidence, Ross's farewell is also at the Milford Cruising Club, but on Tuesday. Sorry, no other details at the moment.

Also I recently saw a notice in the Herald for a Dene Hollier aged in his 90s from Fielding. Could this the same that raced bikes and a series of small Lotus's (Lotii) many years back?

Oh jeez not another one. Knew Ross reasonably well in the late '90s early 2000's. Nice bloke, always up for a chat. The B he put the V8 in was original a BGT. RIP Ross

52 years ago. 1967 at Levin.
Dene Hollier from nearby Taihape had a full crew of friends to help with his Lotus 27 at Levin. (Dene resting his foot on the rear tire.)
