Thanks Terry,
That is a very interesting read and the photos do truly bring back memories of what seems like a magical era now.

I've skipped through that, no time to read properly now...
But it is full of interesting detail, stuff I've never seen before and lots of good pics.
Thanks, Terry.

I just wanted to point out that a photo I put on TRS in August 2015 was used by "primotipo" in Feb. 2016 and then again in this article as "unattributed "
Kelli Ramsey is a friend of my daughter and her dad was a mechanic for Chris Amon's team at the Inaugural Long Beach GP in 1975.
They gave me this photo of Dave bleeding the brakes on the Talon.

I used it here on TRS. August 2015

Then it was used again in this excellent "primotipo" article in Feb. 2016.

Now again here.
(Just to show that if you put a photo on-line you never know when it may show up again, in this case it is all good as I think
"primotipo.com" is an excellent site. )

Sept. 1975.
A few days later Chris was knocked off a bicycle he was riding on the streets of San Juan Capistrano, south of Long Beach, and he was injured enough that he had to spend a few days in hospital, but he did not want the world to know at the time.
A friend of ours was on the hospital staff and he told me he had a patient with a "funny accent" and he seemed pretty tough. He did not have a clue who Chris Amon was !
(Just another bad luck episode for Chris.)
