This is my latest book, which was released by David Bateman Publishing a few weeks ago.

Kiwi Speedway Culture features 19 amazing people/families involved in speedway racing in New Zealand. Included are a mix of current high profile drivers, current New Zealand champions, grass-roots racers, racers of the past, and car builders, as well as a couple of speedway related museums, including those of Gordon McIsaac and the Sergent family.

Included in the book are Albert Gordge, Clive Elliott, Bruce Robertson, the Cowling family, Blondie Chamberlain, Bevan Johnston, Murray Gordge, Shane McIntyre, the Jennings family, the Crumpe family, Peter Rees, Mark Osborne, theBoulton family, the Joblin family, Shane Harwood, the Lampp brothers, Steve Thompson, as well as Gordon McIsaac and the Segent family.

This was an amazing project, in which I spent several hours with each person/family, and just had my recorder running virtually the whole time, to capture their amazing stories. And these are amazing stories.

In all, the book has over 82,000 words, and over 200 pages, in hardback format, and retails at just NZ$39.99. My biggest project yet. Even if you're not a speedway enthusiast, this book is an enjoyable read.

Available at all good booksellers, including Paper Plus, Whitcoulls, The Warehouse etc.

Here are a few pics.
