I actually stumbled upon this collection on social media, on a page called Pukekohe Motor Raceway. I contacted the page manager and asked for permission to post their pics here, and have just been given the green light.

I'm actually still trying to gather info on who took all these photos. Is it one person, or several people? All will eventually be revealed I'm expecting.

But in the meantime, I wanted to start posting these up, because there are some really great shots in here. They appear to be mostly amateur shots, but some are taken at the start/finish line in the pits, so I wonder if whoever took them had permission to stand where they were standing in order to get them. Some were snapped on the track itself, just prior to race start.

There are around 75 photos in all, and they span from the late 1960s right through to a historic event(s) in the mid/late 1980s.

Lovely little car : Ivy Stephenson in the ex-Ross West, ex-Ron Rutherford Lotus 23B : Paul Fahey and Dennis Marwood checking the programme behind, and the Faloon Rorstan Brabham in the pit bay.

I am not 100% sure, but I think Ivy owned the car when Ross drove it. I will ask him when I next see him to be correct.

On post #29 the photo showing the 1931 replica Indianapolis Studebaker is the car that has been found and going to be restored. This was built in the mid 70s and tragicly the owner was killed when driving the car on a vintage rally in 1984. Thanks for the photo Steve as I will pass that on to the restorer for reference.

Bruce I have a couple of shots of the car at Ohakea in 1982, have been posted on TRS, but will repost them if of use to the restorer, loved that car, it was a real treat to see it at Ohakea.

Great photo's Steve, is the RAL the same car that Fordy Farland, a stalwart of the Manuwatu Car Club, and supporter of Manfield owned at one stage, vaguely remember him in something like it at Manfield / Ohakea in 1982. ??

Post 37 - alongside the Zephyr Corvette is Bryan Faloon's light blue Anglia, later painted dark blue before he sold it to acquire the Brabham Climax. The Performance Accessories sign-writing on the side of the Anglia denotes Rob Colliers race prep shop in Levin which accommodated many famous Tasman Series cars and drivers during the '60s and early '70s. Rob did a huge amount of work for Bryan, I worked there in my teens and recall several all-nighters on the Brabham.

Seem to recall that " Fordy " was honoured at the dinner after the Ohakea 1982 race meeting, The AHCCNZ had entered several Healey's ; Frank Karl, Cameron Mackay, and I think Chris White, probably in my photos somewhere, several others from the club went to help prepare the cars and support the drivers, including Mark Donaldson, Nell Holdstock [ Donaldson ], Lyle Chambers, Liz Mckay and myself. a great weekend with runs at Manfield on Saturday and races at Ohakea on the Sunday. have posted some photos elsewhere on TRS ..

I can't add anything too interesting about the RAL owners other than that it's back in the Levis family now and was bought from a bloke near Feilding 6 or 8 years ago.
