Sadly Stefan Bellof died at this Spa track in 1985 when he tried to pass Jacky Ickx at the notorious Eau Rouge corner.
Both were driving Porsche 962s and those who witnessed the accident said it was an impossible pass attempted by Stefan but that was the way he drove. A very fast driver with a bright future, only 27 years old when he died.
