Saw this photo on facebook lastnight,not sure were photo was taken i think in South Island somewhere,It was mentioned that it had some rally history,any info on this car guys?23505

Interesting that the rear guards have rally flares but front is just sport style flares ?
I wonder how rotten it is ??
Looks like the shell is in too good a condition to be an ex- dirt track car..
Club car / rally car ?
Would love too see more !!

Harvey Kibble ran a Mk1 with the bubble flares on the rear only out of Wellington in the 70's. It wasn't commonly done.
His was red/orange with Small's Books on one side and other signage on the other.
I couldn't say if it's the same car.

Is that a Mark 1 Cortina behind, and a Mark 2 in front?

Apparently there are a few Cortinas at this place.Thanks for all comments so far,hope we can work this one out.

Harvey has the ex Allan Mitchell car GH1429 from august 1979 to sept 1985 its original color was Daytona?
It had steel flares on the rear and fiberglass on the front.

The car I recall, which we competed against on a very regular basis, didn't have flares on the front. I remember thinking of it as unusual at the time. I couldn't tell you the rego number or the name of the colour but it was orangey red.
